I went to Grifton, NC to Grifton Free Will Baptist Church for Curtis Hyler & Jubilation Homecoming. They had with them The Mitchells, and Men of Faith. They all were great. Curtis had to pick on me on stage about what I had took for Ray to sign. I took some record covers and a Heaven Bound Book from their 2nd homecoming that Ray was in. I got to talk to Brittanie Taylor about her mom and showed her the book.

Anchormen and Crawford Family Singing on April 12th

I went to Northwest Elementary school on April 12 to see the Anchormen and Crawford family. The emcee was Wesley Jarman. This was the first time I got to see the new Anchormen. They are ok. The Crawford family was first to sing on both halves. Some of the songs they did were Sky full of Angels, Just any day know, How far is Heaven, and others. The Anchormen songs were Jesus nis going get ready, He touched me, He brought me out, Reach out to Jesus, Midnight cry, I feel like running, and others. I had each of the new Anchormen to sign a scrapbook that I have. And I also got their name and birthdays, and anniversary and kids name and birthdays.

Adoration in concert on April 21st

I went to New Covenant Church in New Bern, NC on April 21,2007 to see Adoration. Adoration is Greg Simpkins keyboard player, Brian Routh tenor, Kyle Alfred lead, Terry Carter baritone, and Chris Serlick bass. I saw greg and Jenny and talked about their grandchild Maddie. I was given a picture of her. Greg's parents was there too. Some of the songs Adoration did were Looking for a City, Come on in, I'll Fly Away, Peace through the blood, Whatever you need, and others. This is one of the last concerts that I was able to see Brian with the group. Because he is getting ready to go back to school.

Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet singing on 3-25

I went to Greenville to Faith Assembly of God to see the Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet. That church is where Chet Jarman goes. The group did a great job. The group consist of Tony Jarman as tenor, Wyatt Wilson as lead, Ron Grimes as baritone, and Jerry Pilgrim as bass. Some of the songs the group did were The Star Spangled Banner, Old Time Religion, God's Not Finished With Me Yet, The Word Is Out, and others. Tony and Ron had alot of family there. Tony had some cousins, aunt, brother and his family. Ron had cousins, mom, sisters, brother and his family. Tony, Ron, Chet all sung a song called Oh What A Savior. Then Tony, Ron, Chet and Blake sung a song with no music called Sweet Holy Spirit. I was told my Blake that his son goes to ECU. I got to met Blake's wife and son.

Gold City Concert

I went to Believers Fellowship Church in New Bern, NC on March 17th 2007. I took a book with me I got for Christmas that the outside of the book has a picture of Goldcity on it. I haad each member to sign a sheet inside of the book. When Josh the Keyboard player came in the building he called me by my name. I was shoot the he remembered my name. It was great to see them all again. It had been since July of last year. They all did a great job. Some of the songs they did were: Preach the Word, In my Robe of White, I'm Rich, Look Who Just Checked In, Turth is Marching On, Teach Me Lord to Wait, and others. They had to pick on one another big time as aways. I got a picture with ma and my dad with the group. Steve and Aaron had to have dad in the picture with us all. Steve and Aaron call my dad Pop. We have known them for a long time. I also saw Beck Bennett of Four in Christ. I had carried a picture of Four in Christ with me. I had Beck to sign it and write on the back who was in the picture with him. I told ma something that I did not know about one of theones in that picture. He told me that Greg Andrews had dead and that was news to me. He told me that Todd Andrews that is with the group today was nephew to Greg. Beck told me that I needed to throw that picture away. I told him that I was not going to do that. That picture is over 30 years old.

Anchormen Homecoming on 11-18-06

I went to Goldsboro, NC to see The Anchormen at they Homecoming. It was very good. I got yo see some people I have not seen in awhile there, they are Danny Johnson and Rose Wood Goff. The Anchormen had with them Ricky Atkinson and Compassion and Mercys Well. Both of them were very good. At the end of the night all the groups were on stage and Danny Johnson was up there playing the guitar on "I Feel Like Running". That was a treat to see that.

I went to People's church to see Adoration. They did a very good job. I got to see pictures of Duane & Kecia West and family. Because his mother and father in law was there. His father in law players for Adoration. Thechurch looked different than it did last year. Because they have changed the inside alot.

I went to Movin Up's homecoming Sing. They had with them the Greenes. They both did a wonderful job. When the Greenes was on stage Taranda sung "Sky Full of Angel" and Bell came upand helped mom sing that song. That was cute. While Movin Up was on stage Allan Had to bring Karen's daughter up. So that she could be seen.

I went to Goldsboro, NC to First Assembly of God for Go Mix radio 8th anniversary concert. They had Gold City, Watchmen, The Mann Family, and Movin Up. Gold City had two former members of the Anchormen which were Steve Ladd and Aaron McCune. Which are so used to that church because the Anchormen did have their homecomings there. It was good to see all of them but really good to see Steve and Aaron. Because I had stuff for both of them. They really sounded good together. Movin Up was good but I want to see them again soon because Karen ws not with them that night. She was out because of having the baby. Know the group conist of Amy Kneal, Karen McGlamery, and Tim Sutton. They had a lady from Amy's church filling in for Karen. Their pastor spoke while Movin Up was on stage. He did a very good job as well. The Watchmen did a good job. The baritone singer Chris May also works at the radio station. The Mann Family did a good job as well. I got to see Samuel Jones of Men of Faith quartet. He was there to see Steve. I also saw Ray Bullard, Glenn Carter, Crystal Elloitt, And Will's girlfriend of the Anchormen.

SINGING ON JUNE 4, 2006

I went to Tanglewood Church of God in Kinston, NC to see Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet. They were very good. The tenor for the group is a long time friend of my family's. I have known him all of my life. He has inspirated me to do my writng. I got to see his family which he had his parents, brother, wife and kids there. I even picked on his dad with some record covers from 30 years ago. That was something else. He was talking to one of the guys in the group the night beforew about some of the records. Then I brought them with me to the concert. The Church is where Tony's grandma went. They have set a room aside in memory of her. That was a nice thing for the church to do. I saw Karen and Devin McGlamery and their baby Karlyn. That was the first time I saw the baby.

Pianist Anthony Burger died Wednesday night after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was 44. Anthony was in the Caribbean aboard a Bill Gaither Homecoming cruise this week and it was during one of Wednesday's performances when he suffered the heart attack. A family spokesman said Burger was doing what he loved best, playing the piano, just before collapsing.
Anthony is survived by his wife LuAnn, two sons, AJ and Austin; a daughter, Lori; his mother and father, Richard and Jean Burger; two brothers, Randy and Clinton Burger, and countless friends and loved ones.
Visitation and funeral services will take place in both Nashville, TN and Cleveland, TN.

Burger was born June 5, 1961, in Cleveland, TN, to Richard and Jean Burger. Burger was just five years old when he became the first student ever to be accepted by the Chattanooga Cadek Conservatory. Playing the piano was more than just a job for Anthony Burger. It was a way of life, as well as a blessing, privilege and a direct gift from God.
When Burger was just eight months old, as he was learning to walk in a walker, one of the wheels of the walker got caught on the furnace grate and the walker turned over, throwing him down on the heater. He sustained third degree burns throughout his legs, face and hands. He had to be carried on a pillow for an entire year, during which time he received three medicated baths a day for the burns. Doctors who treated Burger said he would never be able to move his hands; however, as he stated night after night, "Doctors were wrong!" Not only did God heal his burns, He gave Burger a tremendous gift that was used night after night to glorify the Healer he loved so dearly.
Burger possessed natural God-given talent; however, he also possessed tremendous drive. He practiced day after day, and throughout the years continued to perfect his God-given ability. At the Cadek Conservatory, Burger was exposed to many musical forms, yet Gospel music was his favorite. He dedicated his life to Christ at the age of nine, and served Him each day, bringing glory to his Savior with each song he performed.
As a young teenager, barely 16, he joined one of Gospel music's most popular quartets, The Kingsmen, and by the age of 17 was nominated as one of the Top Five pianists in Gospel music. In fact, he earned that Award by subscribers of Singing News magazine for 10 consecutive years, from 1980 through 1989.
Countless awards, accolades and honors have flowed his way in bunches throughout the past 25 years, in which he devoted his life to Gospel Music. He has traveled nationally and internationally, sharing his unique musical gift in small country churches, sold-out arenas and concert halls night after night. He was thrilled to perform at the White House , as well as several Billy Graham Crusades. Shortly after leaving The Kingsmen and embarking on his own solo career, he began traveling with Gospel music's legendary Bill Gaither, serving as pianist for the Gaither Vocal Band, the Gaither Trio and the Gaither Homecoming Friends. Most recently, this year Burger was endorsed by Steinway Pianos.
Gospel music was, indeed, a way of life for Burger, but perhaps it could be said that it was more than a way of life - it truly WAS his life. He traveled quite possibly as much or more than any other Gospel musician. His performances exceeded 250 each year, and he loved every moment on the road, on stage, sitting at the piano.
His life could easily be summed up with a quote that Burger himself once stated, "I am a simple man, with a majestic instrument and the power of God behind me." That's the life he lived. I went to Kinston First Penticoastal Holiness Church to see Kirk Talley on Sunday night. He did a very good job. He did not do his testimony that night because he did it that morning. DOUG RILEY PASSES AWAY

Doug Riley of Gold City Qt died Tuesday morning in a car accident. Doug was the drummer then he started doing the sound for the group. Here are the arrangements.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at CrossPoint Community Church for Doug Riley, 35, Glencoe, who died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006. The Rev. Larry Sumrall and Dr. Quinn Evans will officiate. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home & Cremation Service is in charge.

Doug was a lifelong resident of Glencoe. He was a 1989 graduate of Glencoe Christian Academy. Doug was the drummer, producer and wrote numerous songs for Gold City for the past 16 years. He attended Union No. 3 Baptist Church. Doug was a loving husband, father, son and brother and was adored by his two boys.

Doug is survived by his wife, Amy Jo Riley; sons, Chapen and Griffin Riley; parents, Tim and Barbara Riley; brother, Danny (Holly) Riley; sister, Amy (Kyle) Strickland; father and mother-in-law, R.J. and Susie Riddle; brother-in-law, Casey Riddle; nieces, Sadie Claire Riley and Emma Grace Strickland; nephew, Jase Riddle; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be the current and former members of Gold City. Honorary pallbearers will be all personal friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 Wednesday at CrossPoint Community Church, 2730 Wills Creek Road, Gadsden, off of I-759.

Violet Ladd, mother of Gold City's Steve Ladd, passed away Thursday, November 10 at 10 a.m. She was 57 years old. She passed due to a blood clot that went to her brain and caused a stroke.

I went to Southwood Church to see The Anchormen. And I took some wedding gifts with me for Bryan and Jason. They both thanks me and so did Bryan's wife Crystal. They were very good. They did some of the songs arund the paino. Bryan got the mic from Jason on one song and said that they need to do it faster. So he picked up speed and they sung faster. And they was a little boy there. That The paster had there. He got up their to sing and the boys backed him up. Them on the boys last song they had him to come up and help them on it. That was good.

I went to Southwood Church to see The Four In Chirst. They were good. But Dale was not able to be there because he was sick. And they all had to tell me about what was going on with Dale. Because they know that we are close to each other. And have for many years. They did alot of old songs that was from years ago. And some new ones too. It was good to see them. BOONE, NC(Special Release) - Tony Greene has announced that the Greenes have hired a fulltime replacement for his brother Tim. Brad Hudson of Advance, NC, will take the stage with Tony and TaRanda Greene. According to Tony, "Brad has sung Christian Music all of his life. His talent and testimony for Christ is incredible. He is the real deal!"

Meanwhile, Tim and his family have moved to Ocean Isle Beach, NC, where his health is continuing to improve daily. Tim will make surprise appearances with The Greenes as his health allows him to. He is moving the Loft Studio this week to the Ocean Isle area. For more information about the Loft, dial (910) 616-5610.

The Greenes have also added a pianist, John Jeffries, 27, from Salt Rock, Virginia.

A LETTER FROM TONY GREENE ABOUT HIS HEALTH

Dear friends,

For the past eight years, I have known that I have renal failure. I was born with a right kidney only and it has never fuctioned more than 35% of its possibile function.

Many of you know that I have also suffered with gout attacks for many years. My failing kidney will not filter my blood sufficiently enough to remove the uric acid, thus causing gout.

I am under the care of Dr. Freedman at the North Carolina Baptist hospital in Winston Salem. We have decided to undergo a pre-emptive kidney transplant. This will take place sometime in the next 18 months.

Please know that I do not feel sick, I do not hurt, I am in no pain. Honestly, I feel great. That is why I want to recieve the donor kidney before other problems arise. I will have this done when my kidney function gets down to 10%.

The doctor says that if everything goes as planned, I will be off the road only for a few weeks.

TaRanda and my family are very supportive with this decision. The transplant will be a great alternative to dialysis treatment.

I wanted to share this with you personally before any rumors get out that I am sick and dying. I am very much looking forward to living to be 100 years old. Please pray for us as we cross this mountain together.

To my great delight, they told me they have married! Carolyn and I have been especially close to both Jerry and Little Jan for more years than any of us care to count. Jerry is known for his many years with the Thrasher Brothers, his own group Jerry & The Singing Goffs, and his great emcee work at concerts near and far. Little Jan was a fixture of Wendy Bagwell & The Sunliters for the group's duration.

We wish both of them years of happiness and God's richest blessings.

KINSTON -- Estelle Lanier Jarman, 95, of 1819 Maple Leaf Drive, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday afternoon at her home.

A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday evening, July 5, at 7 p.m. at Tanglewood Church of God on Rouse Road, Kinston, N.C. Pastor Tim Lanier, Pastor Ron Crumpton, Pastor J. Wesley Jarman and Reverend Brett Blackmon will officiate. Interment will be on Wednesday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Born in Lenoir County, she was the daughter of Amos Jacob Lanier and Blanch Caroline Jarman Lanier. She was a 1929 graduate of Southwood School. She was employed with Caswell Center for 20 years. Mrs. Jarman was a charter member of Tanglewood Church of God in Kinston and a faithful member since 1937. She served as a Sunday school teacher, Women's Ministries president and in many other areas of the church she loved and helped to establish. She was a spiritual mother, a confidante to many, and a prayer warrior who was totally dedicated to her Lord.

Mrs. Jarman was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joseph N. Jarman; her parents; one brother, the Reverend Paul Francis Lanier; four sisters, Cora Furlong Greenhouse, Mary Miller, Sadie Davenport, and Laurah "Luke" Jarman; and two great-grandsons, Brad Grimes and Austin Williamson.

She is survived by 11 children, Winfield Jarman and wife Betty of Kinston, Tom Jarman and wife Catherine of Kinston, John Jarman and wife Sherry of Jacksonville, Nick Jarman and wife Margaret of LaGrange, J. Wesley Jarman and wife Lillian of Goldsboro, Harry Jarman and wife Cecile of Grand Prairie, Texas, Eleanor Barwick of Kinston, Sally Blackmon and husband Bill of Four Oaks, Evelyn Jarman of LaGrange, Faye Crumpton and husband Ron of Seminole, Florida, Iris Gray and husband Gene of Kinston, and a special friend and caregiver, Bobbie Byrd of Kinston; and 26 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the celebration service at Tanglewood Church of God on Rouse Road, and other times at the home of Eleanor Barwick, 1819 Maple Leaf Drive, Kinston.

NEW ADDITION TO GOLD CITY

Hey everybody!

I just wanted to take a moment and let all of you know that my
little girl got here today. We were in Middlesboro, KY this morning
when I received a phone call informing me that Holly's water
broke and I needed to head home. The church we were singing at
tonight, Binghamtown Baptist, was kind enough to let me borrow a van to
get to Knoxville, TN and I had Bill drive me there. I had planned
on renting a car in Knoxville, but on our way I received a call
from John Rulapaugh (Palmetto State Quartet) offering to drive me
to Gadsden. John, you will never know how much I appreciate that!
He was for sure a Godsend! We arrived in Gadsden at about 5:30pm
and I headed to Birmingham. Just as I was leaving, Holly called
and informed me that they were going to have to do a c-section and
I needed to hurry. So, I hurried! I made the 1 hour trip in 45
minutes and arrived at the hospital at 6:15pm. I walked in the room
and had an emotional moment with Holly, and then it was time to
go to the operating room for the c-section. She did awesome while
I was a nervous wreck! At 6:52pm, our precious little girl came
into this world weighing in at 7lb 11oz, 20 inches long with a
head full of red hair. As some of you know, we had not decided on a
name, but minutes after her arrival we named her Sadie Claire.
She is absolutely beautiful and doing very well. Mom is doing great
and I think I am finally chilled out. This has been the most
awesome experience of my life. How do some people doubt the existence
of our Creator?! I guess they are a few bricks shy, that's all I
can figure. Or maybe they have never experienced what I did
today.

Thank you to all who prayed for us, thank you to Binghamtown
Baptist Church for your prayers. Thanks to all my brothers, Gold
City, for your prayers and support. You guys are the greatest and I
thank God for you! Some of you may be wondering who is singing in
my place while I am off the road. That would be one Adam Borden!
I heard he did an awesome job just as I expected. Adam, take it
easy on me brother!

I am going to hold my little girl now. God bless all of you!

I went to Southwood Church on May 20th to see the Down East Boys. It was a good concert even thou it was a small group of people there. It was really good to see Rciky and Jason because it had been along time seen I had saw them. And it was to meet Ronnie and Stuart for the first time. It was good to see Carol and Sybal there too. Some of the songs they did were: "John the Revelator," "How Great Thou Art," I Remember the Time," some hymns and some other songs. But I do not really remember the names of them because I did not write them down.

FOUR IN CHRIST MEMBER DAD DIES

Dale Ormond of the Four In Christ dad died on March 8th,2004.Which is what was in the paper in New Bern. His dad was Lester Ormond of New Bern N.C. Lester was 88. A retired minister for the P.H.Conference.
Funeral services were held Thursday at Pollock-Best Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Dixon officiating.Burial was at the Braxton Family Cemetery in Vanceboro.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wherry Cecil Ormond,
his mother, Dora Washington Chandler Ormond, one son, Gary Kent Ormond, one brother, Edward Henderson Ormond and one sister, Ruth Mae Ormond Wiggins.
Mr. Ormond is survived by his widow, Virginia Braxton Ormond of the
home; seven sons, Lester Autry Ormond of Suisun, Calif., Jasper Wherry Ormond of Etiwanda, Calif., Gaylin Lee Ormond of New Bern, Rayon Latrille Ormond of New Bern, Connie Delano Ormond of New Bern, Danny Kaye Ormond of New Bern, Dale Anthony Ormond of Bridgeton; one daughter, Amy Sue Ormond Toler of Bridgeton; three brothers, Robert L. Ormond of New Bern, Donald Ormond of New Bern and David Jerome Ormond of Vanceboro; four sisters,Polly Whitehurst of New Bern, Naomi Edwards of New Bern, Lucille Wilson of New Bern and Peggy Ormond Lawrence of Elizabeth City; 20

DEATH OF GOERGE YOUNCE

It is with great sorrow that we all have lost our beloved George Younce. He went home to be with the Lord on the morning of April 11th, 2005 at approx. 3:30 am.

We all are sad and his life will never be the same. But we are happy for George. For he had been so very sick and in much pain for the last few months. But now He is healthier and happier than he has ever been. And he is having a good old time being with Glen again.

George is survived by his wife of 49 years, Clara; four daughters and son-in-laws, Gina & Rick Eroskey, Dana & Robbie Willis, Lisa & Ernie Haase and Tara & Tom Aidala; and one son, George Lane & Terri Younce, and three grandchildren: Morgan, Laci, and Christian George.

Viewing will be on Monday, April 18, 2005 (from 4 pm to 9 pm) and the Funeral will be Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at 11 am. At The Akron Baptist Temple in Akron, Ohio.

On March 31st I went to Northwest Elementary School in Kinston to see the Anchormen, and Crawford Family. The emcee for the Concert was Wesley Jarman. The concert was very good. But we got out early because of the paint on the floors.
