DOUG RILEY PASSES AWAY
Doug Riley of Gold City Qt died Tuesday morning in a car accident. Doug was the drummer then he started doing the sound for the group. Here are the arrangements.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at CrossPoint Community Church for Doug Riley, 35, Glencoe, who died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006. The Rev. Larry Sumrall and Dr. Quinn Evans will officiate. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home & Cremation Service is in charge.
Doug was a lifelong resident of Glencoe. He was a 1989 graduate of Glencoe Christian Academy. Doug was the drummer, producer and wrote numerous songs for Gold City for the past 16 years. He attended Union No. 3 Baptist Church. Doug was a loving husband, father, son and brother and was adored by his two boys.
Doug is survived by his wife, Amy Jo Riley; sons, Chapen and Griffin Riley; parents, Tim and Barbara Riley; brother, Danny (Holly) Riley; sister, Amy (Kyle) Strickland; father and mother-in-law, R.J. and Susie Riddle; brother-in-law, Casey Riddle; nieces, Sadie Claire Riley and Emma Grace Strickland; nephew, Jase Riddle; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be the current and former members of Gold City. Honorary pallbearers will be all personal friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 Wednesday at CrossPoint Community Church, 2730 Wills Creek Road, Gadsden, off of I-759.
